St. Brendan International Conference

St Brendan

A Chara,

I write on behalf of the Kerry Archaeological & Historical Society to inform you and members of the County Kildare Archaeological Society about the forthcoming St. Brendan International Conference to be held in Tralee, Co. Kerry over the St. Brendan Weekend, May 17-18, 2013. Our Society is collaborating with University College Cork and the St. Brendan Committees in Ardfert and Fenit to ensure the success of this special “Gathering” event.

An international panel of speakers will share their professional insights on the remarkable life and legacy of Brendan the Navigator. There will also be an opportunity to partake in guided visits to North Kerry sites associated with St. Brendan.  I would sincerely welcome the support of the members of the County Kildare Archaeological Society and, if possible, attendance by members at some, if not all, of the scheduled proceedings.

Please find attached the St. Brendan Conference Brochure and Booking Form. If you wish to attend please complete and return with remittance to the St. Brendan International Conference Committee, c/o Ashe Memorial Hall, Denny Street, Tralee, Co. Kerry.  Special accommodation rates have been negotiated with local hotels. Early booking is advisable.  Further information and online booking is available at www.saintbrendanweek.com

I hope that you can join us in County Kerry from May 17-18 for what promises to be a memorable weekend..

Is mise le mór mheas.

An Canónach Tomás Ó Luanaigh

Uachtarán/President,Kerry Archaeological & Historical Society
