KILDARE COUNTY COUNCIL INVITES PARTICIPATION FROM LOCAL GROUPS, ORGANISATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS TO BE PART OF THE IRELAND 2016 CENTENARY PROGRAMME AND DECADE OF COMMEMORATION STRATEGY

Kildare County Council will host an open meeting on Thursday 14 May 7.30 pm to 10 pm in The Osprey Hotel, Naas, Co. Kildare for anyone interested in participating in the development and delivery of Kildare County Council’s local programme, as part of Ireland 2016 and Decade of Commemoration Strategy.  In order to facilitate numbers, prospective participants are kindly requested to register their interest to attend by emailing cilldara2016@gmail.com before 12 May 2015. The Decade of Commemorations Committee and the newly appointed Historian in Residence will be in attendance to hear your views.

An Ceannfort, Stephen Mac Eoin, from the Ireland 2016 Project Office, will also be there on the night.

Light refreshments will be provided

Ireland 2016 is a year-long programme of activity, in which everyone is invited to participate, to commemorate the events of the 1916 Rising, to reflect on our achievements as a democratic state over the last 100 years and to look towards Ireland’s future.
