Lecture: “The Conservation of the Maudlins Pyramids”

The recent conservation work, undertaken by the Follies Trust to the two pyramid mausolea in Maudlins burial ground, Naas, is almost complete. The scaffolding is down and the doors have been delivered to a blacksmith to undertake the final conservation work. As you may be aware the Society contributed a small donation to assist in funding this work.

On Thursday 15th October at 7:00pm Eoin Madigan* who was involved with the project will give a lecture on the work undertaken by Vernacular Conservation. There is no charge but you do have to register (see below).

After the lecture there will be a Q&A session. The panel will include Eoin, Reverend Philip Heak, Rector of Naas Union, Bridget Loughlin, Heritage Officer for County Kildare and Primrose Wilson, Follies Trust.

There are photos of the project work in progress at Maudlins on the Follies Trust website which may be of interest whether you can join the lecture on  the 15th or not.
