Continue last year’s project of recording the graveyard under the direction of Ms Bridget Loughlin, Heritage Officer, Kildare County Council, and Mario Corrigan, Librarian, Local Studies Department, Kildare County Library.

The Glen of Imaal.
Meet at the Glen Lounge Car Park. Visit Kilruddery Stone Circle, the site of Leitrim Barracks, the Redwood tree, Cemetery and the Knickeen Ogham Stone. Tea at Fenton’s (Imaal Bar). Guides: Conleth Manning (President) Hugh Crawford (Vice

Directions: At the junction on N81 showing Baltinglass 8 km / Blessington 21 km, follow the signs for Knockanarrigan & Glen of Imaal. Glen Lounge is approximately 2km from junction.

Co Wexford - Annual Excursion
Picnic at The Deeps, home of Mr Peter Pearson, artist, author and art historian, followed by a tour of the House. Visit Ferns Cathedral, Priory and castle. Supper at Ballykealey Manor, Ballon. Bring picnic lunch. Coach option.

Sunday 29th August, 3.00pm

St Brigid’s Cathedral, Kildare, in celebration of National Heritage Week. By courtesy of the Dean, the Very Rev Dr John Marsden, and the Cathedral Select Vestry.
A tour of the Cathedral monuments, guided by Ms Heather King, Archaeologist who worked on the monuments, and a visit to the Tower, guided by Conleth Manning. Followed by a recital on the newly renovated organ by Peter Maxwell-Brown,
Organist.

Howth, Co Dublin – a walking tour
Visit the church, castle (outside only) and megalithic tomb.

“Historical Survey of King’s River Valley”
An illustrated talk by Dr Seamus O’Maitiu (Council Member).
Venue: Naas Community Centre, Sallins Road. Situated at rear of former Convent of Mercy. Access via car park of the Church of Our Lady and St David.

Annual General Meeting, followed by “Irish History revealed by Genetics”, an illustrated lecture presented by Patrick Guinness (Council Member).
