Irish Agricultural Museum, a guided walking tour of Wexford Town including
Selskar Abbey, Enniscorthy Castle.

Sunday 15th June, 3.00pm
Timahoe Round Tower, Church, and Castle; visit to Culm Crusher
Guides: Conleth Manning and Michael Jacob
Built on the site of an early monastery founded by St Mochua, this complete
round tower has one of the finest Romanesque doorways in Ireland. Nearby are
the remains of a church, which was later converted into a castle. Followed by a
visit to the remains of an industrial horse-driven “Culm Crusher” plant used for
domestic “Bumb” production. Bring a flask for refreshments.

Sunday 6th July, 12.30pm
Annual Excursion: County Westmeath
Fore and Tullynally Castle
Guides: Conleth Manning (President) and Michael Dempsey (Council Member)
Meet at the car park west of Fore village at 12.30pm. (Picnic will start at about
1.30pm after the visit to the Church). At Fore, the site of an early monastery founded by St Feichín, we will visit St Feichín’s Church (10th century), a medievalhermit’s cell, the mill, and the medieval Benedictine Priory and will hear about the Seven Wonders of this beautiful and magical place. Proceed to Tullynally for a guided tour of the Castle.

“Preparing for War: Relics at the Curragh”
