Calls Now Open: Archaeology Grants from the Royal Irish Academy

Archaeology Research Excavation Grants – Deadline 23:55 (GMT) Thursday 20 October 2016

The Royal Irish Academy Standing Committee for Archaeology has the responsibility of allocating and administering funds for research excavation provided annually by the Department of the Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.

World Heritage Sites Directed Archaeological Research Scheme – Deadline 23:55 (GMT) Thursday 20 October 2016

The National Monuments Service of the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs has allocated a fund of €11,880 in 2016 for directed research into the archaeology of the Brú na Bóinne and Skellig Michíl World Heritage Sites and also those sites on Ireland’s Tentative List for which a Technical Evaluation has been satisfactorily concluded. The grant is to be administered by the Standing Committee for Archaeology of the Royal Irish Academy. The purpose of this research grant is to aid in the management of the archaeological resource within the core areas of World Heritage properties and to maintain, and where possible enhance, the Outstanding Universal Value of these internationally important sites.
